To Our Valued Clients,
We wish to provide an important update and correction in relation to our previous communication dated July 14, pertaining to "Clarifications on PhilHealth Advisory 2020-0023 - PhilHealth Systems Optimization." This revised information specifically concerns the extension of 60 calendar days and its applicability to certain claims statuses.
We find it essential to reiterate and clarify the understanding and recommendations derived from our valued clients, their respective PROs, and our collaborative partner, PhilHealth central.
**Key points for Clarification: **
1. The extension of 60 calendar days is applicable to claims and actions where the 60th day falls on or before June 01, 2023. For instance, claims discharged on April 02, 2023, will have an additional 60 calendar days for submission.
2. This extension also applies to RTH (Return-to-Hospital) claims, wherein the 60th day for refiling or appealing lands on or before June 01, 2023. In simpler terms, RTH Claims received on April 03, 2023, and onwards will enjoy an additional 60 calendar days for refiling or appealing. It is important to note that DENIED CLAIMS are not covered by the 60-day extension as these do not involve issues in the intermittent connection; hence, the regular processing procedure for Denied Claims remains effective.
3. Please be advised that the extension of an additional 60 calendar days will persist until the optimization and/or system update is successfully completed, and any potential additional advisory is released by PhilHealth.
4. Furthermore, for patients with Chronic Kidney Disease 5 (CKD5) or who needs Cataract Surgery, the Healthcare Institution (HCI) can provide the service. However, it is required to submit a Certificate from their Nephrologist or Ophthalmologist respectively. It is also highly recommended to wait for the registration in the PhilHealth Dialysis Database (PDD) for CKD5 and approval for the CPSA application for Cataract since there is an additional 60-day window prior to submission.
