JULY 13, 2022 | Microsoft End-of-Life
To all HS8 Users,
We would like to remind everyone on the list of Microsoft Products that will be retiring or reaching the end of support in 2022. Below are some of the affected products:
July 12, 2022
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Extended Security Update Year 3
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, Extended Security Update Year 3
- Microsoft SQL Server 2012
October 11, 2022
- SQL Server 2016, Service Pack 2
We recommend migrating to the latest versions to continue receiving support and security updates.
Windows products have a support lifecycle of approximately ten (10) years. The “End of Life” or the “End of Support” indicates the end of a product’s lifecycle. Microsoft will discontinue providing the following:
Technical support for problems that may occur.
- Bug fixes for issues that are discovered and may impact the stability and usability of the server.
- Security fixes for vulnerabilities that are discovered and that may make the server vulnerable to security breaches.
- Time zone updates.
- Running products after the EOL may have an impact on your organization. Effects vary widely from reduced efficiency and productivity to security vulnerabilities.
